Lil Boosie Trouble Again

At this point, the words “Lil Boosie” and “freedom” make no sense being put in the same sentence together. Bad Azz is in even more trouble and this time it triggers from attempting to once again smuggle codeine into Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. This makes Boosie unsuccessful on three different occasions attempting to transport drugs across correctional lines.

Incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie is facing extra time behind bars after he was accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into his prison cell for the second time in two months.

The rapper, born Torrence Hatch, was indicted by an East Baton Parish grand jury Thursday (July 15).

Black Truffle

Chefs are being too delicate, not to say stingy, in their use of black truffles, maybe it's the price. About 70 per cent of the black truffles, tuber melanosporum, grown at the two Truffles Australis trufferies at Mole Creek near Deloraine are exported.

A truffle is the fruiting body of an underground mushroom; spore dispersal is accomplished through fungivores, animals that eat fungi. Almost all truffles are ectomycorrhizal and are therefore usually found in close association with trees.

There are hundreds of species of truffles, but the fruiting body of some (mostly in the genus Tuber) are highly prized as a food. The 18th-century French gastronome Brillat-Savarin called these truffles "the diamond of the kitchen". Edible truffles are held in high esteem in French, Spanish, northern Italian and Greek cooking, as well as in international haute cuisine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truffle_(fungus)

Rapper Ja Rule Sentenced In Failing To Pay Taxes

Ja Rule, 35, was sentenced in New York City last month to up to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal weapon possession. The gun wasn't registered. In the federal case, U.S. Magistrate Patty Shwartz in Newark ruled that the majority of his 28-month federal sentence could be served at the same time as the New York state prison sentence.

The federal time will be served at the Oneida Correctional Facility in upstate New York, where he is serving the state sentence.

Hip-hop star Ja Rule was sentenced on Monday to two years in a New Jersey prison for failing to file income tax returns. After failing to pay income taxes on $3 million, Ja Rule was sentenced on July 18 to over two years in prison.

Ja Rule’s long fall from grace reached a new low in a New Jersey courtroom on Monday when the Queens-born rapper and actor was sentenced to 28 months in prison for failing to file federal income tax returns over a five-year period.

In March, Ja Rule, who’s real name is Jeffrey Atkins, admitted in court he had failed to pay taxes on more than $3 million in income that he earned from 2004 to 2006 from two companies — ASJA Inc. and Rule Tours Inc. – depriving the government of $1.1 million in taxes. Judge Shwartz said that the two sentences could be served concurrently and that the federal sentence could be served at New York State’s Oneida Correctional Facility, where Ja Rule is incarcerated.

Bye Bye Borders To Shut Down

In what could be a boon to competitors Amazon and Barnes & Noble, Borders, the book chain, may close its doors for good this week.

Founded in 1971 by brothers Tom and Louis Borders in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Borders was bought by Kmart in 1992 and combined with Waldenbooks.

Borders, which employs about 10,700 people, scrapped a bankruptcy-court auction scheduled for Tuesday amid the dearth of bids. Borders filed for bankruptcy-court protection in February. Borders scrambled unsuccessfully over the weekend to find other potential buyers who would keep the chain alive.

The chain's demise could speed the decline in sales of hardcover and paperback books as consumers increasingly turn to downloading electronic books or having physical books mailed to their doorsteps.

"It's a tragedy Borders didn't make it through."

"If shopping at your local Borders is part of your weekly routine, and then Borders is gone, you may end up doing something other than buying books."

Borders is closing its 399 remaining stores and 11,000 employees are being laid off. Yesterday’s deadline for new bids on Borders came and went, with Phoenix-based venture capital firm Najafi “reluctantly” declining to submit a new bid and liquidation firms Hilco and Gordon Brothers the only bidders left at the table. Borders filed for bankruptcy in February and has already closed about 200 stores. Borders chose Najafi Companies as its stalking-horse bidder. Deal Journal also has Edwards’ letter to Borders employees, which blames Borders’ bad end on “external forces.”

Borders Group to Submit Hilco and Gordon Brothers Proposal to Court for Approval

– Hilco and Gordon Brothers to purchase store assets of the business and administer liquidation process

– Borders extends gratitude to dedicated employees and loyal customers

“Following the best efforts of all parties, we are saddened by this development,” said Borders Group President Mike Edwards. Borders currently operates 399 stores and employs approximately 10,700 employees.

Nelson Mandela Birthday

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born in Transkei, South Africa on July 18, 1918. His father was Chief Henry Mandela of the Tembu Tribe. After the banning of the ANC in 1960, Nelson Mandela argued for the setting up of a military wing within the ANC. Mandela was arrested in 1962 and sentenced to five years' imprisonment with hard labour. During his years in prison, Nelson Mandela's reputation grew steadily. Nelson Mandela was released on February 11, 1990.

"The ANC Youth League specially encourages all young people to change their profile pictures on Facebook, Twitter, BBM [Black Berry Messaging], linked in [sic], MXit and all social sites to be pictures of Comrade Nelson Mandela," said African National Congress Youth League spokesman Floyd Shivambu in a statement.

South Africa's first black president, Nelson Mandela, is celebrating his 93rd birthday Thursday, as people all over the world honor his life by giving back to their own communities.

US president Barack Obama and Mrs Obama

US President Barack Obama saluted anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela on his 93rd birthday, saying he set the standard for service delivery by civil servants world-wide. Obama called Mandela "a beacon for the global community, and for all who work for democracy, justice and reconciliation."

Mandela became president of the youth league in 1951."Obama said the United States was honoured to join 192 United Nations member states in 2009 to declare July 18 Nelson Mandela International Day, in recognition of his contribution to peace and freedom.

'Breaking Bad' Season 4

You can see it in Walt's nervous chatter during the scene, as well as in the fact that Gus knows he doesn't need to say a single word to make his point. (Esposito, Cranston and Gilligan break down the scene here.)

Nothing more than letting a couple of people see him when he went to check if Jesse had really shot Gale, and possibly being arrogant enough to think he could cook as well as Walt and Jesse do. (Though Walt and Jesse's attempts to shove Victor's body in a barrel was just as grimly comedic.)

And yes, Jesse really did shoot Gale. The show did a slight head-fake by focusing first on the bullet hole in Gale's tea kettle, but Jesse is now in just as deep as Walt is. There's no question about Gale's fate, but we're hoping that somewhere down the line this season we'll see the character again in a flashback.

The scenes with Hank and Marie were a little tougher to deal with, but that seems like the point.

The premiere of Breaking Bad didn't focus on Walt- whether or not we wanted it to. We left last season at a stale mate- did jesse kille gail? Did Walter's plan work?

If you didn't know, Vince Gilligan is a f*cking genius.

This episode shows that while Walt has broke bad (in previous seasons), Skyler is just short of being an enemy herself and Jesse has moved into a land while moral complications are a non issue- a direct response from White's choices. I think that Jesse won't be heartbroken anymore, rather numb and still confusing his relationship with Walt. Mentor/Mentee? Walt is still Walt. You are not innocent Walt, you are anything but.
Star of the episode: It was a tie between Jeremiahs Bitsui's Victor and Betsy Brandt's Marie.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line, the smallest of the three major North American cruise brands, has filed to become a public company – again.

The cruise line, far smaller than North America's two largest cruise companies, Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., has undergone major changes since Apollo purchased it in 2008.

It's time to christen a new seafaring IPO.

Norwegian Cruise Line is filing to go public this morning, hoping to raise as much as $250 million in joining rivals Carnival (NYSE: CCL ) and Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL ) as publicly traded cruise ship operators.

NCL isn't like its bigger peers. Royal Caribbean has its rock walls, appealing to active families. Carnival's namesake line is the value-priced mass-market behemoth. Disney's (NYSE: DIS ) three ships aim squarely at young families. NCL milks plenty out of its 11-ship fleet. Investors won't be snapping up Royal Caribbean and Carnival, speculating that industry valuations will rise after NCL's debut.

Casey Anthony

Casey Anthony, the Florida mother who was acquitted of charges that she murdered her daughter Caylee, was released just after midnight today from an Orange County jail, according to her attorney and jail officials.

"This release had an unusual amount of security so, therefore, in that sense, it would not be a normal release," Orange County Jail spokesman Allen Moore said. Aside the jail time Anthony was fined $4,000.

People in the crowd lined up on both sides of the highway outside the jail chanted "Caylee, Caylee," and cars driving by honked their horns in response a sign saying "Honk for Caylee."

But along with those angy about Anthony's release, were a few supporters of the young woman.

Caylee Anthony died in June 2008 and wasn't reported missing for 31 days.

Casey Anthony claimed for three years that she was kidnapped by a babysitter. At the beginning of her murder trial, Anthony's lawyer said that Caylee actually drowned in the family pool.

Orange County Jail officials planned to release Anthony some time Sunday under circumstances they refused to disclose. At least one officer carried an assault weapon. As midnight approached, upward of 100 spectators had gathered outside the jail. Barbara Tobin, a semi-retired teacher, drove up from Fort Lauderdale and held a "Justice for Caylee" sign.

The anti-Casey Anthony protesters intermittently chanted, "Caylee, Caylee."

There were seven new threats against her Friday, her attorney Jose Baez, who successfully defended Anthony against a first degree murder charge, revealed.

Anthony, 25, will be released from the Orange County Jail sometime after midnight. The Orange County Sheriff has arranged for three embedded reporters and photographers to capture in words and pictures what goes down at the moment Casey is released.

Santa Fe

Along came the Tucson’s bigger brother, the Santa Fe, and it is time to give it the third degree as well.

Call it Inokom Santa Fe to be politically correct but it’s a Hyundai at heart.

Looks-wise, the Santa Fe still is a handsome beast while featuring enough changes to make it look refreshing.
Independent ratings have also buoyed the SUV’s credentials. The Santa Fe was recently voted the most reliable car in America’s Consumer Reports 2010 Annual Auto Reliability Survey and turned in a 5-star NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) safety rating.

Entering or exiting the Santa Fe is easy as all doors open wide.

The Santa Fe tested here is powered by the new 2.2-litre CRDi (Common rail direct fuel injection) R-Series four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, a powerplant that Hyundai has spent over RM730mil in developing.

The Santa Fe’s handling is up to the job, providing a car-like driving experience with plenty of grip. Should the urge to go off road arise, the all-wheel drive system has a “lock” button that locks front and rear wheels together. At a price point of RM169,854.30, the latest Santa Fe is worthy of serious consideration as an SUV contender that can move seven people in a pinch.

President Obama Meet Dalai Lama

President Obama met with the Dalai Lama this morning at the White House, despite objections.

China’s foreign minister had urged the White House to cancel the meeting.

The White House also said the Dalai Lama told Obama that he is not seeking independence for Tibet and hopes that talks between his representatives and the Chinese government resume.

Mr. Obama and the Dalai Lama are both Nobel Peace Prize winners

Thousands of expatriate Tibetans joined a 76th birthday celebration Wednesday for the Dalai Lama, who's just relinquished leadership of Tibet's government-in-exile.

A Chinese crackdown led the Dalai Lama to flee into exile in India in 1959. China says he's welcome to return if he drops his separatist activities, accepts Tibet as an inalienable part of China and recognizes Taiwan as a province of China.

Hours before the Dalai Lama's arrival, the Chinese Foreign Ministry urged the White House to cancel the visit.

Reflecting the diplomatic sensitivity of the visit, the 44-minute meeting with the Dalai Lama — Obama’s second as president — was closed to the news media. China considers Tibet its territory and the Dalai Lama a separatist, although he favors self-rule rather than independence.

In announcing the meeting late Friday, the White House said Obama would express support for a resolution between China and Tibet that protects Tibet’s interests.

Beijing on Saturday reiterated its call for Obama to cancel the meeting, according to China’s official news agency, Xinhua.

Charlie Sheen Is Not Dead

Charlie Sheen death rumors are flooding the internet this morning, but instead of mourning his own death, Charlie Sheen is tweeting!

"What's with all these death rumors? Friends of Charlie Sheen are a bit worried about no drug testing in the custody case between Sheen's kids with Brooke Mueller.

Charlie Sheen is not dead. “Charlie Sheen is not dead! A Facebook link to fake stories purporting that Charlie Sheen is dead could actually be a malware scam that has been around for some time. This celebrity death rumor comes shortly after stories of Hugh Hefner’s demise started circulating. I'm pleased, too,” he tweeted.

Billy Ray Cyrus " I'm American "

William "Billy" Ray Cyrus (born August 25, 1961) is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor and philanthropist, who helped make country music a worldwide phenomenon. Cyrus, a multi-platinum selling recording artist, has scored a total of eight top-ten singles on the Billboard Country Songs chart. Some Gave All was also the first debut album to enter at the number 1 in the Billboard Country Albums.

"A young soldier stood up and kind of shouted out, 'Keep going, Mr. Cyrus! That moment was what Cyrus, 49, calls the "genesis" of his new album, I'm American, out June 28. Saluting soldiers through his music has become a crucial part of Cyrus' "purpose in life," he says. Initially, Cyrus had no plans beyond re-recording Some Gave All, the title track from his 1992 debut — the same album that launched him into Achy Breaky Heart fame. premiering July 11 (10 p.m. ET/PT), which reunites deployed troops with their families.

As a father, and a well-known one at that (daughter Miley Cyrus is frequent tabloid fodder), Cyrus says seeing what military families give up is "humbling."

"We always had this motto, 'If you ain't happy, it ain't working,''' Cyrus says. ""It was one of those rare moments where the art and what I was doing became very real with where my life was at," says Cyrus, whose current single Runway Lights is the theme song for Surprise Homecoming. After hitting some concert tour stops in July and early August, Cyrus will head to Vancouver to shoot the sequel to his Hallmark Channel movie Christmas in Canaan.

South Sudan Celebrates Independence

Tens of thousands of people have gathered in South Sudan's capital for celebrations marking the new nation's independence.

South Sudan officially became the world's newest country at midnight local time Friday. Bashir flew into Juba Saturday.

Already, South Sudan has been recognized by its northern neighbor. Sudan's army is currently fighting pro-southern Sudan elements in the northern-controlled state of Southern Kordofan.

South Sudan’s parliament speaker proclaimed the fledgling state’s independence on Saturday, marking its birth as the world’s newest nation and splitting Africa’s largest country in two.

“We, the democratically elected representatives of the people, based on the will of the people of South Sudan, and as confirmed by the outcome of the referendum of self-determination, hereby declare South Sudan to be an independent and sovereign nation,” James Wani Igga announced.

South Sudan’s national flag was then raised, to wild applause, tears and song.

South Sudan raised the flag of its new nation for the first time Saturday, as thousands of South Sudanese citizens and dozens of international dignitaries swarmed the new country capital of Juba to celebrate the country's birth.

South Sudan became the world's newest country Saturday with a raucous street party at midnight. At a packed mid-day ceremony, the speaker of parliament read a proclamation of independence as the flag of Sudan was lowered and the flag of South Sudan was raised, sparking wild cheers from the crowd.

Thousands of South Sudanese poured into the ceremonial arena when gates opened. Uganda President Yoweri Museveni _ South Sudan's southern neighbor _ was among the many African leaders.

Though Saturday is a day of celebration, residents of South Sudan must soon face many challenges. Violence has broken out in the contested border region of Abyei in recent weeks, and fighting is ongoing in Southern Kordofan, a state that lies in Sudan _ not South Sudan _ but which has many residents loyal to the south. While South Sudan is now expected to control of more than 75 percent of what was Sudan's daily oil production, it has no refineries and southern oil must flow through the north's pipelines to reach market.
